Explain your project and the process you went through to create it. Talk about idea development, challenges you went through and how you solved them, and how you made this piece personally meaningful to you and let your artistic voice come through.
I kinda wanted to play off the book I made last year and use the same theme/characters. I didn't want to exactly copy or replicate it but wanted to use the same characters/theme/plot for it. I ended up making a few revisions and remaking the 'plot' or whatever for it. And when I do finish it, it's going to have an additional character even. It was more a process of having a vague idea and figuring out what exactly I wanted to do with it. That was probably the biggest challenge and it just resulted in a couple pages of scribbles and quite a few thumbnail sketches and scratching things out.
I guess its personal since I used two things I really like: Pens/Ink and watercolor. I also used apple blossoms on the cover, first page, and scattered through the rest of the pages (along with planning on drawing them on some other pages later). I really like apple blossoms-they're really pretty plus I have an apple tree in my yard. (That's my favorite tree.) Practically everything in it-colours, medias, flowers-are a reflection of something I really like and I got to draw in whatever style I wanted. I also used my own characters. I'm too embarrassed to actually write or talk about what they represent most times because I'm afraid of it coming out too simple and making it sound dumb, haha. Instead I just draw them and let people guess/make up their own meaning for them.
