8 Idea Project

How does coming up with a lot of different idea for one theme help to develop your creative flexibility?
It doesn't limit you to a single idea or artwork, it lets you branch off with different ideas. You can experiment with different styles with the same subject, which is pretty neat. It also means you can combine and switch to different styles and medias. And I aways find it fun/relaxing to try different styles or play around with a media I don't normally use. Or even do normally use, actually.

It also kinda forces you to think about your art differently, like, 'okay I've already used watercolors so what would suit this one.' And you don't want any of them to be boring to look at or just kinda fade into each other. You want each one to be unique and you have to think about what will make each one stand out from the others.

Explain what this process was like for you.

What would be something neat to draw? >Skyscrapers are cool plus they differ quite a bit from one another but are still recognizable as skyscrapers >What can make them neater? >A fantasy theme >A skyscraper in the middle of a forest, amusement park, galaxy, clouds, floating rock, paper lantern, and one with a blowy purple power source in it. >Thumbnails >What media would go best with each of those ideas. >Okay this hard.  >Restart/take breaks a couple times. >Think it's finished >Go back and change something. >Okay now it's finished.

Name your favorite and least favorite projects of the 8 (or more) that you created and explain why you liked/did not like them.

The shaded pencil one I really like. It was a lot of fun and pretty simple to do, too. It just looks whimsical to me. I like the inked one too. It has such contrast and its a floating city.  I also like the skyscraper in the gold, digital one. And the background kinda looks 'manufactured/not organic' which conflicts with the fact its a forest/sky background . . .I don't know it that's a pro or con, though.

I don't particularly care for the paper lantern one. I mean, it's kinda cute but just not my favorite.
